By Greg Moglia
There on the beach a swing for two
and in the late afternoon empty
We sit and take in the world, we two
and words are said but not remembered
Something to pass the time
‘How lovely, how perfect . . . ’
But all that’s needed is my foot
that sets the swing to swinging
And the folks years ago who said
Here, let’s put a swing here
Just one, we’ll make it strong
to survive the salt air
We’ll make it for
one set of lovers, just one
We’ll give them the autumn sky and sea
And time and death will disappear
